Brian Burks was born in in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He attended Mexico State University.

A book about the adventures of sixteen-year-old Runs With Horses, a member of the last small band of Apaches. A book about the struggles of George McJunkin and his family. He served in the US Air Force from He is a writer of children's books centered around the history of the Old West. He is also the owner and operator of horse rental stables. When he is not working he likes to ride horses or play guitar.
